This is the second release from these artists, all of which have at least two things in common - they are part of the "On Reflection" Internet list, and they feel inspired to create by the music of Gentle Giant. Although some of the works seem a long way from the various output of GG, there is much here to enjoy. Some are simple odd meter clavichord pieces (like track 2) and some are full sized, well-produced, album ready songs. I very much appreciate the musical innovation of one of the greatest bands to take the stage in the last thirty years, so my preference is for the tracks that recall Gentle Giant at their best. The best work falls between Tomas Stark's wonderful "Adventures in Syncopia" to The Region of Where's inspiring "From the Bottom of My Shoes". In between, Another Tomas Stark track "Come To My Land" features some acoustic guitars over a folk tune that gathers steam and morphs as it goes along. But be sure to have your finger on the "next track" button to skip some basic AOR tracks and some tracks that are ideas for songs, but are not ready to come out of the oven yet.

The CDBaby page offers links to each artist and their other work. The album artwork and layout make it look like another actual Gentle Giant release. You will want to follow up on some of the artists after listening to Giant For Another Hour.
