Everything old is new again. That slow, sludgy, and slightly sloppy sound of yesteryear seems to be making a comeback. Josiah's No Time, their third full-length album, chews up the sounds of riff-oriented power trios of the late 60s and 70s and spits them back out in barely-digested chunks. 9 straight-ahead rockers that sound like they probably could have been blasted from an 8-track player inside a wall-to-wall shag carpeted Westfalia circa 1974 (in quadrophonic sound, complete with strobe lights), are served up raw and in your face.
No point even trying to dissect this one song-by-song. It's meant as one loud "long live rock!" message delivered with grit and gusto. If you like heavy rock from years gone by, then I'm sure you'll have the time for No Time. If you haven't come off the bong hits you did in 1975, then you probably think this sound never disappeared. Nothing fancy here: few solos, no complex time signatures, no fruity tales of hobbits and dragons, just some ballsy stoner rock played old school.
Crank it to 11!
