WHOA! Arena´s new album is brilliant!! Brimming with powerful chords and strong vocals, never have I heard these "boys" so excellent and to the front, as on this release. Mr Sowden really strikes as a master vocalist, soaring through those fabulous songs, that really is the nucleus of this fantastic album. Arena has been around for a while and the quality of their output has been high. but this one Pepper’s Ghost is one fabulous album. Yes, fans of Arena, this one’s a keeper! All songs involved are fantastic. There are powerchords, there are brilliant singing, there are arrangements deluxe, there is superb musicianship. Just listen to track one: "Bedlam Fayre" Whoa, what a way to start an album - sheer and utter brilliance. Heavy and progressive...yeah!! I cannot state, how much this album influenced my state of mind but let me just say this: after listening to this fabulous album and really the last track "Opera Fantastica" it blew my mind.....no really!! This is as good as it gets. Hear me progsters, get this fine album!! You like Arena? You even love them? Then go for this absolutely brilliant album! Arena...there is no excuse...you NEED this fine album....that is..if you are a real prog fan!

Format:
CD (Album)
Genres: Neo-prog some tidbits of prog metal
Comparable to: Marillion, Dream Theater, IQ, Shadow Gallery
Better than: Pride, Immortal?
Not as good as: Just as good as The Visitor, Contagion.
Best songs: “Smoke and Mirrors”, “Opera Fanatica”
Notes: Arena's 6th album, and a return to the concept album. This effort is equal to Contagion and The Visitor. With very accessible catchy hooks and excellent playing.
