An exciting four piece, Inquire deliver the goods to those of you with inquiring minds.
The group consists of Dieter Cromen - guitar, bass and vocals, Robert Köhler- keyboards, Thomas Kohls- drums, percussion and Uli Müchenheim- bass.
This is yet the best European prog that has been sent my way to review so far. Clear and crisp production abounds on this CD. It's a real nice CD to listen to.
Musically it's ambitious. Imagine a Pink Floyd-like backdrop, very atmospheric keys. Then add a good dose of Queensrÿche-like crunchy guitar on top. Next add some vocals that are not unlike that of a young Greg Lake.... This was my first impression of Inquire and I was enjoying all I heard pretty much from the very beginning. I will certainly play this CD again soon. The playing is excellent and the vocals are very good as well. Lyrically it might leave a tad to be desired, but that's pretty forgivable considering how good the music is here. Also there are many long instrumental stretches on here as well. Lots to enjoy. I suggest this one to fans of the prog metal genre especially, I think the guitar playing would be very appreciated by fans of that genre. Tasty and quick it is!
A big thumbs up for Inquire! Look for the CD with the guy with the chipped tooth on the cover, that's the one!
