If I had to describe this second full length album (there was an EP released before this) from this Florida quartet in one word….I would say likeable. This punk-pop release is vocally driven with a subtle Christian message. Vocalist Aaron Marsh's falsetto voice takes center stage in the CD's 10 tracks. Bryan Laurenson's nifty guitar work opens the CD with "No one really wins"…the best song on the disk, and continues to keep an upbeat tempo until track five "Kite" which is reminiscent of an early Queen-ballad. After that, the light-hearted mood gives way to a more somber, soul-searching sound until the albums' end. I detect influences of early Queen and U2, in the guitar work and vocals, but they have a definite sound of their own. This was my first exposure to Copeland, but I do see myself exploring some of their other work…again, very likeable, worth checking out.
