Under Construction, a box-set from Gentle Giant, are per definition always interesting. And this box set with a thick booklet and a double CD, really is something to take note of. Gentle Giant started out as a backing band for Simon Dupree, way back in the sixties called Simon Dupree & The Big Sound. And you can actually hear brothers Shulman´s influence in the later period of said band. Hence the first track "Freedoms Child" on this superb box-set and it was their first radio appearance. The Gentle Giant sound shines through!! On the first part of this set you can really hear the Shulmans and companions Green and Minnear thread their beginners (although already supreme) shoes.

This box-set contains early material,later material,demo versions from both periods, alternative versions of songs and...Well you get the picture. It’s a must own for Gentle Giant freaks!!! All this, and more are packed in a blue hard box, with nice white layout, upon the original Gentle Giant illustration-close up: the eye ...great vision!! Now, this is brimming with excellent material for the Giant freak, who can’t get enough of these fine progsters deluxe. So it seems its Christmas time again...a bit early but who cares as long a the gift comes fully packed and nicely wrapped.

This box is essential to ANY prog friend and need I say it? ANY gentle giant freak...forget your vacation..forget your weekly restaurant visit, this one should NOT go passed you!!!
