Uh, New Age? I know some of you may grimace at that title...after the entire name does conjure visions of John Tesh and Yanni...but this one is a keeper. It is excellently produced, very nicely arranged, and very symphonic.
Best of all, this CD features several tracks with Jon Anderson handling vocals! Aside from the Olias Of Sunhillow album, and the "Friends Of Mr. Cairo" song, I am not a huge fan of Jon's solo or collaborative work. However, this collaboration works very well.
This is much more of an instrumental work than a vocally accompanied work. Jon's vocals do not even appear until nearly ten minutes into the disk. When he does sing, it is not his usual cryptically metaphysical lyrics...it is much more straightforward and concise, a refreshing change. The songs are still about love though, go figure!
This is a work of sublime beauty and probably not recommended to the prog metal fans that don't care for quieter, more symphonic music. However, fans of progressive electronic, symph, or Yes should check this one out.
